I took this lovely shot as I was about to get back on Highway-24 from Lake George. Beautiful!  You can actually see Orion’s belt and the little dipper.  You surely can’t see those stars in the city!

I’d never been to Lake George and wasn’t aware of the dirt roads.  But, a friend warned me to use my brights while “out there” and once I turned off of Highway 24, I understood.  I wasn’t sure how to use the brights on my car, as living in Colorado Springs doesn’t require them. Or, at least rarely.  On these dirt roads which were twisting and turning, they were essential.  This photo of a bright clear sky was taken as I exited the neighborhoods after the loan signing.

As a mobile notary working out of Colorado Springs, I travel to many places and meet many new fine people.  This particular evening was a loan signing agent job.  Lovely people and nice kids.

As I was walking down the steps from their upstairs living space, I saw a huge ‘something’ at the bottom of the steps.  It was very dark as their motion detector lights went out quickly after leaving the deck.

The gentleman hadn’t come out yet to help to exit the property.  I wasn’t scared and I knew their dogs were in their enclosure, but still…what was it?  Was there anything?

As I hit the last few steps I saw eyes and something quite large.  But, what was it? It felt friendly.  Then I looked up and what I saw was a huge woolly sheep!  His name, the owner told me was, Pete!  He was a very friendly sheep.

Not Pete

I petted Pete’s nose and saw what a beautiful boy he was!  I was then greeted by the loan signer and nicely helped backing out of the driveway.  Every person I meet, every home I go to is new. That is one of the perks of being a mobile notary.  There is always something and someone new to discover.

Mobile notary work has it rewards and meeting Pete the sheep was just one of them this evening, the stars were the other.
